Mayuri first appeared in music videos with Sameer Buragohain. One day Mayuri went to a song recording studio with her sister Priyanka. Then, suddenly a director saw her at the studio and asked her 'What are you doing?'. She replied 'Now, I am studying but I love dancing and acting'. Then she was to do an audition and she got selected. That's how she got in Assamese Serial Industry.
She has appeared in many Assamese music videos with popular Assamese singers. Then she got her major breakthrough when she appeared in Assamese mega serial 'Tumar Morome Muk' directed by Amitabh Borah.
