Aroop Borah is one of the most talented, versatile and handsome actors of Jollywood.
Early Life :
Aroop Borah was born in Chennai, to Nilakanta Borah and Tillotoma Borah on 15 Jan 1978. He has two brothers and one sister. After the retirement of his father, they started living in Assam. His father's original house was in Nagaon.
His father was an airman i.e member of the airforce. So, due to his father's posting in various regions, he had change different schools.
He studied in Shillong from class I to class IV then he shifted to Nagaon and studied from class V to class VI and then again he shifted to Guwahati and studied from class VII to XII.
He passed HSLC and HS from KV CRPF School Guwahati.
He did his graduation in Arts from B. Borooah College, Guwahati.
Then he went to Delhi to do some professional course.

When Aroop was in Delhi he made some friends and they came to know that Aroop has an interest in acting. So they make an acting group and insisted him to join the group. He joins that group and learnt acting for about 3 months. He has done two or three dramas with that group.
One day lady saw him in a drama and told him to come to an address. He went and that it was a production house of 'Adhikari Brothers'. They offer him a serial and he agreed.
That was his first serial in front of the camera.
A friend of Aroop who was associated with Assamese film industry saw that serial and contacted him and asked him to come to Assam and do films for the Assamese film industry. Aroop agreed and luckily he got a role in an Assamese film 'Chakrabehu'. That was a small role.
Aroop also did many Assamese video songs. His first video song was 'Sip sip Borokhun'
One day he got a call from NK production and offered him a VCD film 'Anjana'. He did the lead character. It was the first lead character role for him.
After that, he acted in many hit films like 'Adhinayak', etc.
His recent film is 'Bornodi Bhotiai' (2019 released)
He is also associated with Assamese mobile theatre for about 15 years.
'Alakananda' was his first Mobile theatre.
