Diganta Hazarika was born on 23 September 1984 to Kunjokanta Hazarika and Jyoti Prabha Hazarika at Nagaon, Assam. He has an elder sister and an elder brother.
Diganta Hazarika studied at Puranigudam Balika Vidyalaya, Nagaon till class 4.
Then he cleared HSLC and HS from Radha Kanta Barooah Higher Secondary School, Puranigudam Nagaon.
Then he studied at Nagaon College and completed his degree.

Diganta Hazarika started his career as a model in 2004. He never thought to become an actor. He was interested in sports from his childhood. Assamese Film Directors like Simple Gogoi and others encouraged him to do acting.
Diganta Hazarika's first movie was 'Madhuri'. But he was not in the lead character.
Then in 2009, he got his big break as a lead actor in an Assamese movie 'Ki Naam Di Matim'. Then eventually he becomes a popular face in Assam.
His some of the Assamese movies are
Rishang in 2012, Rowd in 2012, Grahan in 2014, Anuradha in 2015, The Underworld in 2018 and Pratighat in 2019.
He was also seen in Assamese TV Serials like Moromor Anuradha, Ragini and Pratigya.
Diganta Hazarika has also shown his presence in Bollywood Movies. He acted in a superhit Bollywood movie Mohenjo Daro in 2016 along with Hritik Roshan.
He was also seen in Hindi TV Serial Everest in 2015 aired on Star Plus.
